Members of Extra Texture have in the past been band leaders or a part of other jazz groups and projects.  To show the breadth of involvement of Extra Texture musicians during long careers, here is a sampling of associated musical endeavors.

Dennis St. Germain's interest in Latin Jazz led him to forming and recording his and other's related music in the Eugene-based ensemble Ritmo De La Noche.  Group members have since gone on to excel in the realm of Jazz alll along the west coast of the U.S.

Over the more recent decades, Steve has been involved in a few long term projects. Menagerie, with guitarists Frank Sprouse and Rossco Wright as well as drummer Bruce Cole interpreted various jazz music through the lens of fusion.  Kokobolo, a 5-piece electric band with Frank Sprouse, played Sprouse non-vocal compositions with a rock-like attitude.  Gumbo Groove was composed of Steve, again with guitarist Frank Sprouse, but this time on acoustic guitar with singer and guitarist/mando player Kathy Mezger.  This group revisioned Frank's music as three-part harmony vocal pieces set within a unique folk/bluegrass bent.  Now, in addition to periodic in-private musical exploration with old friends Bill Sabol and Paul Slate, Steve has re-united with his great friend Dennis St. Germain to build on their original 1979 Extra Texture music.
